Royalty in Action

Frederick County 4-H Royalty were chosen on a number of qualities and characteristics. One important aspect of being royalty was community service and involvement. Throughout a king or queen's reign they would attend many of the youth shows at the Great Frederick Fair, helping to hand out ribbons to contestants in each class and taking photos with youth champions. Service extended outside of fair season and into the daily lives of 4-Hers around the county. Several times throughout the year royalty would help out with administrative tasks at the County Office and accompany the County Agent on visits to community clubs.
